Here’s a twist on traditional almond milk, Maple Water Almond Milk. Replace plain water with maple water, our brand of choice is DRINKmaple. With a slight hint of sweetness, maple water is naturally gluten-free, paleo friendly and vegan. Add this delicious almond milk as a base to smoothies, to your coffee or drink straight up!

Method
  1. Place almonds in bowl and add enough water to cover. After eight or so hours strain water from almonds and rinse.
  2. Place almonds in blender with 3 - 4 cups of maple water. Blend on high speed for at least one minute until almonds are pulverized.
  3. You will need a nut bag or a fine mesh sieve - place either over the top of a medium sized bowl. Pour the almond milk through the nut bag to collect in the bowl. You will need to spend some time squeezing and ringing out the nut bag to extract the maximum amount of liquid. The almond paste that is left in the bag should be very dry and crumbly.
  4. Pour the almond milk back into the blender. Add in cinnamon, vanilla, salt and chopped dates. Blend long enough to combine ingredients.
  5. Store in an airtight pitcher, use within three days or so.
