Mom’s Classic Apple Pie was a huge staple at Karmel & Devorah’s house while growing up. Thanksgiving morning was all about pie making—Apple Pie, Pecan Pie and of course Pumpkin Pie! Our Mom is famous for her Classic Apple Pie recipe and we’re sharing it with you!  It’s gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan. Sweet with classic flavors—food for your soul and great to share. Method
Crust
  1. Stir together flour and salt. Pour canola oil and cold water into a measuring cup.
  2. Add all ingredients at once to flour mixture. Stir lightly with fork.
  3. Form into 2 equal balls. Roll each ball between 12’’ squares of wax paper.
  4. When dough is rolled to edges it will be the right thickness. Peel off top sheet of paper.
  5. Place dough on pie plate. Remove paper.
Pie Filling
  1. Blend flour, salt and sugar.
  2. Sprinkle ¼ of pie filling mixture over bottom crust. Stir remaining mixture with apples as well as tapioca starch and brandy.
  3. Place apple pie filling into pie. Dot with coconut oil or margarine.
  4. Sprinkle lemon juice and cinnamon or nutmeg over the apples.
  5. Top pie with second crust. Pinch edges together and poke center with fork 3 times.
  6. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Turn down to 325 degrees till apples are tender (35-40 minutes).
